The Guigal domain was founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal in the ancient village of Ampuis, home of the wines of the Côte-Rôtie.  In these vineyards that are over 2400 years old, you can still see the small terraced walls characteristic of the Roman period.  Today Guigal are regarded as one of the Rhône’s very top winemaker’s producing a range of multi award winning wines annually.  Chris will bring us up to date with modern developments at the winery and we look forward to tasting some fabulous wines on the night.

  1. Sicily – The wines of Tasca d’Almerita

  2. Host: Graeme Broom

  3. Tickets £15

The large Regaleali estate, high in the central Sicilian hills, has been in the hands of the noble Tasca family since 1830.  Ever since, the property has been run according to the best principles of the agricultural aristocracy: with one eye firmly on quality, and the other on experimentation. Tasca’s large range is the product of the family’s most successful innovations, including short pruning for lower yields, and the championing of local Inzolia and Nero d’Avola vines.  Exceptional wines introduced by Graeme Broom on the evening.

GARETH ROBERTSON OF ANTONIJ RUPERT WINES

At the heart of Anthonij Rupert Wines lies the fundamental belief that the source of supreme wine quality lies in the land; that a specific terroir, with soil and climate working together to capture the essence of each particular grape variety, dictates the style of wine that speaks powerfully of the highest quality and most genuine character. In the cellars, the fruit from the vines are treated with the highest level of care through the winemaking process to create a wine that is true to the natural characteristics of the grapes and the vines from which they came.

Vasse Felix was the first commercial winery to be established in the Margaret River area of Western Australia. Others followed, and the region now has an international reputation for fine wine, typically combining ripe Australian fruit with elegant European structure.

Vasse Felix remains a prime exponent with its beautifully made wines: the whites are crisp and elegant, the reds full-flavoured and vibrant. Both offer varietal character of complexity and precision, while at the same time expressing the distinctive terroir of Margaret River.

This once in a lifetime opportunity will be on Monday 23rd May at 6pm sharp!
